Even during times of uncertainty, we’re making dreams come true! With no Puerto Vallarta travel warnings to worry about, guests are loving their vacations and sharing their experiences. If you’re wondering “is Puerto Vallarta safe,” find out what they have to say.
This is my fourth time staying at this resort. It’s a very nice place to visit and stay with family. I usually come with my kids and they love it. There are lots of activities and a very friendly staff. A special mention goes out to Irma, who helped us with our many questions and ensured that we received the answers and guidance required. If you have any questions and concerns, she’s the person to meet; she’ll direct you in the right direction. Irma is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Puerto Vallarta is a very safe location and I would recommend this resort for a great family vacation.
We had an excellent trip. Everyone was very helpful and friendly including Fabiola, Martin and Ramon. The resort is nice with a lot of different excursion possibilities. Spent a lot of time on the beach and at the three pools. My daughter LOVED the crepes and the ladies working there have to be the hardest working people in the resort.
Excellence service and comfortable accommodations. The atmosphere is very guest centric and there are shows and entertainment to make you feel comfortable and welcome. There are themed dinner shows each evening; Alexia, Monse, Andric and Karina were exceptionally enthusiastic and eager to share their culture was palpable. Ignacio (pool concierge) was particularly helpful and hospital.
For an easy going and stress free vacation; this place is totally recommend.
Great trip! The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Pools were well kept, and the activities on site were fun and worth it. Diego, was able to set us with great excursions! Villa del Palmar is great for those who want to get out and enjoy the city.
Lovely hotel, ask for a room closer to the ocean . Lovely balcony view with amazing sunset . Staff very friendly. Nice pools and nice beach . 20 mn walk to the boardwalk . Bring a bit of money with you at the beach , lots of people selling trinkets, fresh fruits platters, oysters, or shrimps and marlin on a stick
Villa del Palmar is a great resort with excellent food, great staff, and fantastic entertainment. It was a pleasure staying with them over Christmas.
Special thanks to Monse (Jasmine) for teaching me Spanish and providing such wonderful and joyful entertainment for my family. We all really enjoyed your dancing!
We have never been to this resort. We were pleasantly surprised. They gave us an upgrade, free, upon check-in. The room was spacious and had the necessities. Due to the several pools and hot tubs, there was always a place to lay in the sun, including your private balcony. The beach volleyball was a hit with many people. We got fish from a third-party fishing outing and the restaurant at the resort was more than willing to grill the fish for us. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Awesome spa and massage. Enjoyed the sports bar to watch our favorite football games. Highly recommend this resort.
I just got back from a fantastic, relaxing vacation. Stayed one week in a clean one-bedroom unit. Thanks to all of the staff for a much needed vacation. A special thank you to Diego our concierge and Ignacio the Pool Concierge for all of your help. They really went above and beyond. I can't wait to go back again. The experience changed my mind about staying at a resort. We did not use the all-inclusive package this time but still ate at the restaurants and had wonderful food. Next time I would go all-inclusive for sure. We enjoyed hanging out by the pool and meeting lots of great people from all over the world. We made it into town a few times, the taxis and buses were clean and safe. I can't say enough about how nice and helpful all the staff were. It's defiantly on my to-do again list!
Resort was great. Concierge Irma was super helpful with ATV tour, booking massages, restaurants. She was so helpful. Staff was all super friendly, food very good. Pool was cool but guacamole was outstanding!
Pools are great. Resort is right on the beach. Convenient to local restaurants and grocery stores! Staff are very friendly! Non all inclusive is a great option because it encourages you to try different local cuisine.
This is a safe and friendly resort with all the amenities. Clean, quiet. Staff are very attentive. Recommended for families, singles and seniors.
We had a great time at the palmar. We stayed back in december for three weeks and liked it so much that we are back. The beach is great and the staff couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. Of special note the concierge Irma was especially helpful to us. She was there to help us book events and answer any questions that we had.
The best team in earth the concietge department Villa Del Palmar Centro especially Diego, Irma,,Monse,Iris,Fabi, Kenia, Martin etc all staff were good .the hotel have an excellent enviroment pleasent all the way and very safe which ths most important thing. The hotel es super clean and the maids are very good (verenice) please give these staff a very good prize/ evaluation.. Thank you to all Belkis R
Fabulous day at the pool & our waiter (Miguel) made me a “giants” drink for our WHL hockey team VANCOUVER Giants !!! He matched the colours of my hat - amazing man
Irma at the concierge desk is so amazing. She has taken such great care of us. Booking reservations, greeting us by name! Always looking out for us. When we had an issue she took the time to ensure we were happy and content. Thank you Irma
Thank you for the great service. All the staff are very friendly, Alex at the front desk, Ramon and Fabiola from concierge were always greeting us with a smile. The resort is old but very well maintained. The pool temperature is just right, not to warm , refreshing and clean. Thank you for your hospitality, we will see you next time.
This resort is a real hidden gem. From the onset the lobby is great and was recently refurbished. The resort itself is a little dated and so first impressions were a little skeptical. After needing to change room intially, Raul made this an easy and seemless service everything beyond this was A+. There are 3 heated pools offering ample room for even a fully booked resort. The temperature and heat was perfect and cleanliness was tip notch. Daniel was absolutely amazing for pool service, attention to detail, very polite and friendly and was always making sure we had what we needed. The poolside food was also amazing, very well cooked and great selections including a entire vegan selection. The food at the restaurants was also amazing, Jorge who wasnt always our waiter really went out of his way to look after us. Sandra who serviced our room was amazing too. These are just a few names but we had amazing service throughout and will definitely be coming back. Its clear to see many staff members have been working here for a number of years and I feel this is what makes the resort head and shoulders above the rest. Thanks for such a great vacation, we'll be back to see you all again
Great place to vacation, as a couple or as a family. Super safe, and if you only speak English you'll be fine. All of the Villa del Palmar resorts are nice, this one is very user-friendly and would be a good place to start if you haven't travelled much outside of the US. It's close to a lot of the stuff you'll want to do and see. They've really updated the resort, very impressed with all of the work they've done. Very nice, very safe beach, kids can go into the ocean without having to worry about riptides, rocks, etc. Very friendly, helpful staff--be sure to say hi to Irma at the Concierge's desk!
We were offered this trip in a vacation package and our expectations weren't that high but to my amazement our stay was absolutely fabulous!!! Our room was perfect for two middle aged folks, king bed with a kitchenette, and the best part was, our room looked out onto the bay. The food was great and the drinks were pretty awesome too. Our cups didn't remain empty for long thanks to the wonderful staff. I would definitely go to the resort again and not think twice about it. Thank you Villa del Mar for a wonderful stay.
This was our third vacation spent at the Villa del Mar and it just keeps getting better. Our concierge Erma did so much to ensure our entire experience was unforgettable and the in house manager Diego still remembered my name from last year....great service.
I had a great time here at Villa Del Palmar the activity coordinators were great! Very friendly and a lot of fun.
The food was good my room was ocean front and very nice also.
Activities team Monse, Kari, Alexia, Monica, David, Armando, Franco, Abraham, Sergio Coreo, Sergio acuticos, Carlos dj
Super clean great place to vacation

Every one is so nice
The grounds and pool are very well maintained
Spa is fantastic
Walking distance to malls shops and dining
Bus stop right out front to go down town
My inlaws and I spent a week at the lovely villa del palmar resort in Puerto vallarta and we all had a great time! Good food, great drinks and a very friendly and helpful staff! Ray ann did a great job on helping us find our bearings, and alerting us of the many activities! There are many things to do in the area, both on the resort and nearby!
We had a 1st floor room by the pool. Exactly what we ask for and thanks to Claudia Camarena everything was perfect from day 1. Enjoyed the beach activities and the water aerobics on a regular basis. Loved the Mexican Fiesta and the members party was fun as usual too.
Girls trip, the most amazing week. I absolutely think we picked the best time to vacation and enjoy the beautiful weather and people. We had 7 days of rest and relaxation. The hospitality, was great! Everyone was so friendly and courteous. The location was easy to navigate, getting back and forth to the property was a breeze. We would especially like to thank Obler and Carlos for the tequila tasting, they were awesome! The breafast, was especially delicious and the waiters were great. Daniel, the poolside waiter thank you. Lastly, Gabrielle our room attendant thank you as well for your service. I will definitely return. See you all soon!
We stayed here for 5 night-6 days. We LOVED this place. All staff members were so nice and friendly. The food was great, drinks were delish and the views are beautiful. Every visitor we met was so friendly as well, you could see everyone who was staying at this hotel was having a GREAT time. Every night the hotel does some sort of entertainment which was a blast as well. We will be returning for sure
It’s our second time in this resort and we are having a good time, friendly staff, special thanks to Monse, Diego & Martin, they are always willing to help. Looking forward to coming back
Great location, outstanding staff- Diego is very knowledgeable, professional and a very nice person: Jose is simply the best bellman ever: Claudia is always extremely helpful and accessible: and Ernesto is fantastic on the beach. Absolutely no hesitation to continue to come here.
This a great location, we come twice a year and as members we feel proud of the staff that you have. Ernesto our waiter by the pool is always friendly and kind. Jose the bell boy always giving us a great welcoming at the entrance. The concierge Diego , Martin y Monserrat always ready to make our dinner reservations outside. Exceptional staff.
Best vacation I've ever taken. Coming back asap!
Small resort that caters to people who want to cook for themselves as well as good restaurants. Great location, close to Malecon and other shopping
This was my 1st visit. I have to share the experience was perfect. Check in was quick, rooms are big and clean and the staff very friendly and eager to help. I have to give a shout out to Victor. There have been few times in my life where I was completely wowed and Victor is now at the head of the class. His attention to detail for me was amazing. If you come here, reach and ask for Victor. He will make your vacation the best ever. I promise!
We returned recently from our second amazing stay at Hotel Mousai. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every moment. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff attentive and the food wonderful. Here are a couple of highlights:
Rooftop: we spent every day at the rooftop pool. The staff met us with a smile and fantastic service. I want to mention them by name because they were that good. So thank you...Rafael Palomera, Alan, Jesus, Guillermo, Enrique, Gabriel, Gustavo and Ehary. They took amazing care of us. Don’t forget to tip them!
Spa: we did two 80 minute massages and two Diamond facials. The facility is amazing. Be sure and save time for the water therapy!
Dining: Hiroshi and the Steakhouse were our favorites. All the food is fabulous. We enjoyed room service several times as well. Tip: order your breakfast the night before and enjoy it on your beautiful patio.
They have a fun tennis and racquetball facility as well that we used twice. Make it a good workout and walk down and back!
Rooms: this is our second time with a corner suite. Views are beautiful. We used the hot tub every night!
Transportation: use their recommendation! It was super easy and perfect way to not worry about anything.
Covid: this is our second trip to Mexico during Covid. We felt super safe. Everyone was great about wearing masks etc. we traveled during the new regulations that require a negative test within 3 days of travel back to US. They make its so easy. On-site complimentary rapid test. They have a doctor on site at the facility.
We are already planning our next trip back
One of the most gorgeous places I ever have been. Excellent service, views, rooms, food and the best staff too!! Ricardo, Tito, Azucena, Carmen, Gabriel, Enrique, Guillermo,Gustavo, Eduardo, Bertin, Arturo, Jos, Ehany, Jenni, Christian, Francisco, Irving, Abraham, Leo, Elisa!!! Sorry if I miss anyone. Thank yall for your great hospitality!!
Great aid satisfy stay!! Thank you Ricardo one of the concierne for us! He got everything ready to be confortable in our second vacation . We would love to comeback .
Unbelievable experience. We recently became owners and had the pleasure of staying at the resort our last 3 nights in Puerto Vallarta. Very happy with our decision to purchase and have access to all the Tafer resorts in Mexico. From our initial presentation with JC and Jeff, to the excursion coordination of Ana, to our royal treatment by Joel our valet, extremely helpful concierge and to every other staff member who took care of our every need. Gracias
I really have nothing to say to better the experience we had, it was THAT good. We met another family there for a friend/family vacation so total was 5 kids -tweens/teens and 4 parents. Every one of us had our minds blown. It was everyone's favorite vacation and we barely left the resort except for one day of fishing on the ocean and a boat trip to Los Arcos. The rooms are so well designed. We were in a panoramic 2 bedroom in the 4th Tower. The views are stunning. We could open up the entire dining and living room to have an open air setting anytime we wished and it was fantastic. Marble counters, comfortable beds with soft sheets and huge pillows, hot tub on the balcony, 3 showers, nice, big kitchen! I loved all of the ways to light the rooms so there was always an ambiance. The resort grounds are beautiful, lush, and well manicured. The pools were clean, refreshing and so pretty. Everything was clean and we all could tell, was extremely well thought out. It is not an "average" resort. It is most definitely high quality in every sense of the word. The customer service and staff at Garza is what pushes the stay into extraordinary. We had 9 people and every single one of us was made to feel that we were special, and that they were working to make our stay the best possible. I have never had that feeling before! This came from everyone from the concierge to the wait staff on the beach, to the guides on the resort hiking trip to the restaurant staff and chef. It was amazing! The staff at Garza Blanca are so professional and I hope they get paid accordingly. We will be back and will recommend the resort to everyone we know!
This was our 5th visit to Garza Blanca, it is my happy place. From the moment we arrive & are greeted by Lorena, to the attentiveness of all the staff, Oswald, Francisco, Manuel, Jose, Tito, Emily, Gloria, Anna, Roberto, the entire staff at The Steakhouse...everyone is so kind & go above and beyond to make every stay more special than the last! The food is delicious, My massage with Naomi at the spa was awesome! We just got back to Denver yesterday & are already planning our next trip back!
Breakfast at The Terrace was made even more special by Miguel P. Thank you for your kind attention Miquel!!! The pillows were perfect and the service wonderful! The food of course was delicious. We especially enjoyed the healthy smoothies.
We booked an Ultra Mousai Corner Suite for one week to celebrate our honeymoon which comes with the all-inclusive benefits of their ULTRA package.
In our 6 days on the resort, we only had EXCELLENT experiences with the staff, the facilities, and accessing all our ultra benefits. There are tons of options for how to spend each day. We preferred to begin each day with in-room dining on the terrace overlooking the sail-boats gliding through the bay. For the mornings, we'd hit the spa or the outdoor activities like hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming in waterfalls, etc. The staff on each excursion was amazing! Oswaldo, Sergio, and Julio were awesome!
Every afternoon was spent on the rooftop under a cabana and swimming in the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the bay. We ordered fresh food and amazing drinks while soaking in the sun. Alberto, Ivan, Enrique, and Rigo took excellent care of us during the afternoons and made the whole experience fantastic.
Finally, our butler, Cesar, made sure we made the most of our trip, he helped us plan sunset dinners at Hiroshi and Bianca Blue, organize our hydrotherapy at the spa, utilize all our services and more. Everyone at Mousai was very friendly and super helpful.
I cannot wait to bring some friends next time!
Hubby and I chose Hotel Mousai as our special celebration destination and we weren’t disappoint. Our room had breathtaking view, hotel facilities were great and we enjoyed the services they provided. Restaurants have good ambiance with top quality food. Rooftop pool was great but our love was the beach. Beach is relatively quiet for most of the days. Food at the beach was awesome and we really appreciated all the help and care from the attentive beach attendant Javier!! :)
We ended up ordering room service for most of the mornings so we don’t miss out on the great view from our terrace. Miguel (aka Brad Pitt) always made sure everything is setup perfectly for us to enjoy :)
Overall a great stay, with varieties of restaurants and activities! :)
My Husband and I stayed at Mousai for a week over Valentine's Day and our Anniversary. We had a corner suite on the north end of the building. Even tho we were only on the 2nd floor the views from all balconies were amazing. We also chose to do the AI and were very happy we did.
We have been traveling to PV for 25 plus years on a regular basis. Having stayed AI resorts, non AI as well as condos. Hotel Mousai is in a category all by itself. We feel it's not even fair to compare other resorts we've stayed at to it. That's not to say we still won't stay at some of our old favorites, but when we want to stay somewhere special we will chose Mousai.
Every Employee we encountered was helpful, engaging, pleasant and more than willing to do whatever you needed.
Our favorite of course is Miguel (Brad Pitt). He currently works delivering room service. He's incredibly efficient and hard working. It is my hope that someday Miguel will be on the rooftop as a pool server. He surprised us with champagne on our anniversary, picked out a special bottle of wine for us on Valentine's Day, and even came up to our room to say goodbye on the day we were leaving. He and his captain Raphael prepared a special dessert complete with mimosas.
The food at all the restaurants we ate at was very good, fresh and well presented. Hiroshi being our favorite, we ate there twice. Even tho we did AI we went into town 3 evenings for dinner. But we still felt we got more than our monies worth by choosing AI.
Must also mention how wonderful the rooftop bar is. We had phenomenal service from Alberto, Polo and pool attendants Alan and Rico. The bar tenders throughout the resort make amazing top shelf cocktails with fresh ingredients.
Really the only thing we believe could use improvement is the Lobby area. It's somewhat sterile feeling/not very inviting. The small bar there serves the lobby and Hiroshi. Those guys work their tails off. With only 5 seats at the bar it almost seems an afterthought. Perhaps they could add another bar to the lobby as well as more seating that would be inviting. It would be a nice way to meet up with people before or after dinner.
Cannot wait for our next stay and to see Miguel's smiling face!!
My husband and I were lucky enough to spend 12 incredible days at Hotel Mousai. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The food is wonderful. The suites are spotless and huge. The staff is absolutely amazing and we did not want to leave. I’m already planning our next trip there. It was unlike any other place I’ve been. We felt totally pampered and appreciated as guests. I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Mousai as a couples getaway. It’s very romantic. Seriously, paradise on earth!
As we think on our trip to Hotel Mousai and the wonderful facility and its staff, we want to say a sincere thank you for the memory of a week spent in paradise. From our pick up at the Puerto Vallarta airport, to our check in with our Concierge Jennifer, to our butler Ernesto, to our beautiful Paulina making reservations for us, to our waiters Matteo, Angel in Hotel Mousai's breakfast "jungle", and Angel Corbain at Blanca Bleu to our pool attendants and maids, you all made our stay so very effort free! The facility is gorgeous, the spa outstanding, and we found our experience far exceeded anything or anywhere else we've ever been. The whales even were evident this final week in February. We will return soon.
This is one of the best resorts I have ever been to in my life. The service was off the charts, the views were amazing, and the people were kind. The rooftop pool is a masterpiece for relaxation and soaking in the sun. I loved our ultra mousai suite and the resort has everything you could ever want from an all inclusive. We can’t wait to book our next trip. It was the perfect romantic getaway in the middle of winter.
We have to give some shout outs to Ernesto, Rigo, Manuel, Angel, Jesus, Josue. There are many more that made our stay awesome, but too many to mention. Loved this place and the breathtaking scenery, but I loved the people even more. Do yourself the ultimate favor and boom this trip today. You won’t regret it.
My wife, daughter and I completed a 6 night stay at the Hotel Mousai. It was almost 2 years since out last visit and we can honestly say the second time around was as good as the first. The food, facilities, and especially service oriented staff helped create another incredible and unforgettable vacation experience. Special mention for infinity pool attendant Rigo, Hiroshi wait staff Jose, and Terrace server Mateo for their extra attention during our interaction. These three individuals are part of the reason why the hotel maintains a 5 diamond rating.
First off, I'd like to say this hotel may not be for everybody. We've stayed at a fair amount of all inclusives over the years for weddings and other events. I'd say Hotel Mousai sits a bit more on the quiet/romantic side vs the a party atmosphere that you find at a lot of the other all inclusives.
I enjoy both, but just wanted to note what people are getting themselves into.
I guess we'll just list off what we loved first
Rooftop pool and lounge area. Really, this is the vast majority of what this resort is about. If you're not into hanging around the pool for most of the day, I'm not sure if this hotel is the right spot for you.
If you are, be prepared for an amazing experience.
We often arrived around 10:30AM and still found a selection of poolside chairs available. As soon as you arrive, a staff member will ask you where you want to sit and will setup several towels and a headrest on each seat. Each seating area is spaced with enough room on both sides for each person to have a room for a food and drink tray.
After that, the day is pretty much up to you. We often stayed around the pool from 10:30AM until around 5-6PM in the evening. Staff approaches you often to check on your drink and food options/desires.
The drinks are quite good and we particularly enjoyed the Paloma (or several). It was nice as the drinks weren't overly sugar filled and were quite pleasant to drink and look at.
The poolside food menu is large and offers a few dozen options of things to eat poolside.
The infinity pool is quite pleasant as well. The water is heated so it's easy to hang out in morning/noon/evening.
The pool was never overly busy either. I can't think of any day where we found every seat in the rooftop section taken. The music was enjoyable, but not too loud. The entire experience was built around enjoying yourself in a fairly quiet and luxurious expeirence.
We ended up cancelling our excursion to town as we simply enjoyed the pool experience so much.
Rooms were quite large and spacious. We stayed in a corner suite and enjoyed the balcony most of the mornings. The bed was extremely comfortable and we often found ourselves naturally sleeping in a bit.
Honestly, the best part of the room was the room service iPad with full menu and easy ordering. Every morning we ordered a large selection of items to the room, through the iPad and just sat in bed and ate and drank and enjoyed the view until we were ready to go to the pool.
The only (minor) complaint with the room is the bathroom. This is a fairly common occurrence in any 'luxury' hotel. Typically bathrooms sacrifice privacy for better aesthetics. A choice I understand, but isn't always the best for privacy. A very minor gripe for a great room experience.
I think food is always a tough item with any all inclusive experience. I don't think you're ever going to get as good of food at any all inclusive resort as you could get at a mid to mid/upper scale restaurant back home.
That being said, Mousai had the best food I've had in an all inclusive resort experience.
The variety was good, the flavor was good and the Japanese-style restaurant may even go a tad above good good and may be somewhat great with some dished. I'd highly recommend the Japanese restaurant as your 'main' restaurant for any event your celebrating.
The steakhouse was pretty good and the sister hotel 'Blanca Blu' was pretty good as well. As I said, the true standout is the Japenese resturant, by far.
As I mentioned earlier, this is a bit more of a chill/romantic experience. You don't really find the loud lobby music in the evening, tons of people drinking at several bars and talking loudly and dancing. I like those experiences as much as anyone else, but Musai is very much an experience focused around relaxation.
We came on the trip to get away from a very busy personal/business life and the relaxation vibe was exactly what we were looking for and perfectly 'on point'.
Overall, we'd definitely come back. I say that as a couple who tends to like to travel and try new things most of the time. The rooftop pool and overall hotel experience makes it something we'd be more than happy to return to. We even met a few other mid 30s couples around our age and had a good time socializing and hanging out with them for a few days.
As a final note, we went the all inclusive route and found that we definitely got our value out of it (as we tend to indulge quite a bit more than we might back home).
The only difficulty with the all inclusive is that tipping is still part of the process and you will receive a 'normal' bill. This was a bit confusing at first but I realized they may have just included the non-inclusive bill so you have a better idea of what to tip.
Anyway, in the end, highly recommended. The price is higher but it all depends on what matters to you. For us, we'd rather spend a bit more and stay a night or two less and get a lot more out of the experience. Enjoy!
My husband and I spent 5 days at this amazing hotel and we were so sad to leave. Great views, rooms, spa, and exceptional staff! We saw the construction going on but we hardly ever heard it, and when we did it was not bothersome at all. The staff and service truly is fantastic, starting with Hector at check-in, Jennifer our concierge, Miguel, Matteo, and Jennifer at the terrace for breakfast (try the passionfruit mimosas!!), Abraham and Mel at Hiroshi restaurant, and Marcela who kept our room sparkling clean! I would definitely recommend getting the all-inclusive as well as the round trip transportation (you get hounded at the airport for transportation and time share selling from other vendors so it’s nice to just skip through all that and already have transportation set up). The rooftop gets busy in the afternoon, so if you want a chill time at the pool I would recommend going in the morning after breakfast. We went on the hiking advanced excursion and Tito was awesome. When they say hiking advanced, they aren’t kidding - it was an intense hike so I would suggest doing the river/waterfall one if you aren’t in great shape. We will definitely be back!!
Just returned from our vacation, our third visit to this site. Wondered if it coild live up to our previous visits, and in fact it was even better. The property is beautiful and well maintained, but the service level has actually been moved up a notch.
Our personal butler, Cesar Joya, met with us every morning to ensure our needs were met. He arranged restuarents, cabs, and visits from our friends.
We stayed here for 3 nights from March 16-19. Both of us are in our early 30s, past our partying phase, so we just wanted to relax and get pampered.
We initially got the corner room but upgraded to the ultra mousai corner one. The ultra cost us about 95 dollars more per night. It made us have a butler, pillow menu, aromatherapy and the highest floor available on check in. It made us have access to the hydrotherapy circuit at their spa as well (more on this later). Was it worth it? Being it was our first time here and we just wanted to be pampered, I think it was worth it if just for the views. The other stuff were pleasant add-ons as well.
First off, the room is huge! Being a corner room, we got 2 sides of the room open up to the ocean while the other side gave us a gorgeous view of the mountains at the back. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were equally as lovely. The toilet seat was heated (made us want to install one in our bathroom after this) and aside from the usual toilet paper, it had a bidet which was a very welcome addition as well.
Outside, there's a patio with loungers and a heated jacuzzi where we would just lounge around for hours, waiting for magnificent sunset view to come.
Food and Drinks:
I think this has been one of the best highlights of our stay here. For breakfast, we would usually order room service while admiring the sunrise/bay area. I'd recommend their eggs benedict as well as banana pancakes. We would then be at the rooftop pool for lunch. You can't go wrong with anything you order there. I loved the chicken pops as well as the octopus skewers. While the above mentioned food might seem basic just by looking at the names, the hotel was able to elevate them so that the quality is one that you may see in restaurants. Their seasoning/spice were very much on point as well. For dinner, we ate at hiroshi for the three nights that we were there. I have to say thati was impressed by their food there. I'd recommend the sauteed crab and new york ponzu sashimi as starters and the duck magret, ribeye wasabu, and catch of the day for mains. Their sushi rolls can be a hit or miss.
Cocktails can be ordered in-room, by the pool or at hiroshi (served by the lobby bar). All three have different offerings and we only got to sample the ones at the pool and restaurant. All of them seemed elevated and not just your usual sugary flavored drinks. My favorites are the caddilac margarita by the pool and the groovy, or the totori margarita at hiroshi.
There are other restaurants at garza blanca that people staying at hotel mousai can go to as well but we elected not to since we've heard just great things at hiroshi and mixed reviews especially when it comes to the difference in quality when you go to the other restaurants.
The rooftop pool is just amazing! Whether we went there in the morning, noontime or in the afternoon, there were always loungers/ cabanas available. This is in stark comparison to other resorts where you have to play the towel game and such. The view is also amazing as it gives you a sweeping view of the ocean from a high vantage point. It's adults only and the environment is more of a chill, relaxed one rather than a party type. They have 2 other pools as well down by garza as far as we could tell but we didnt get the chance to stay there.
The beach, being in puerto vallarta was a bit small and a bit rocky especially when compared to cancun. To be honest though, the rooftop pool made up a lot for this lack of beach area.
Staying in an ultra suite, we had access to the hydrotherapy at their spa. It was really relaxing to undergo their circuit. I had a massage afterwards as well and it was really worth the price which was not that high compared to the ones back in USA. The quality though was over the top from the cleansing foot ritual at the start to the almost feeling like you are in a cocoon at the end. I left there feeling like a new person.
This one I think really makes this hotel shine. From the welcome drink and cold towel that they gave us when we arrived at the hotel, to the caring aura that they exuded whenever we interacted with them, I could tell that they really wanted to give us a wonderful experience while staying here. Whenever there was a small hiccup in the room, they responded really fast when we alerted them about it.
In terms of the daily activities, we only did a hike with them. It was the beginner one and I think we should have done the more advanced ones to be honest. Suffice to say, the kids on the tour loved it.
This is an excellent resort to stay in puerto vallarta. The rooms, food, drinks and the service they provide are all top-notch. I would recommend doing the all-inclusive option and upgrade to an ultra suite to get the best views as well.
First of all EVERYTHING you read about in all of these reviews about Hotel Mousai are correct. This is a 5 star hotel rated by those who have stayed there and those reviews are spot on. I’m not going to tell you how wonderful the pool, food, room, etc. is. That has already been done many times over. I agree with all the reviews. The hotel is spectacular!
My wife and I decided in Nov 2018 we wanted to go to Puerto Vallarta. We had never been there and took to TripAdvisor for some recommendations. Of course we looked for adults only, all inclusive, and not downtown. Then sort your results and HM came out on the top. We looked into it and made a decision in March 2019 to go for the 1st time. Spectacular corner room with all the wonderful amenities you’ve read in the previous reviews. We had a fantastic time.
Fast forward 1 year. We were looking for another place for a March vacation (2020) and decided to go back to HM. We were so happy there it made sense to go back. Of course the day after we arrived all heck broke lose in the US with the virus and all that. You name it, it all got closed that week. That said we were able to stay the entire week and enjoyed 80+ degrees and sun each day for 7 days!!! We did make it back about 5 days before Mexico was added to the do not visit list.
So, the stay was again wonderful and the following people were the reason why my wife and I had such a wonderful time. It started each day when we went down to the Terrace restaurant for breakfast. A beautiful hostess by the name of Kimberly was there to welcome us with a big smile each day. She was so personable and made a point to come visit us at our table each morning as well as seat us. Once sitting 2 wonderful young me were our waiters for the week. Mataeo and Angel were there on the spot each morning with our favorite mimosas and coffee. After, 2 days they knew exactly what we liked and how it was prepared. They made us so comfortable in the morning that it was very sad to say goodbye on our final morning.
After we had our breakfast we would head up to the pool each day where we would spend the entire day basking in the sun under a tree/umbrella and having wonderful food and drinks brought to us by an exceptional staff. Ignacia (aka Nacho) was our waiter almost every day. He made sure that we were taken care of every moment. Anyone can bring you drinks and food, but Nacho did so with a smile and a personal touch each and every time. Rigo was a young pool boy who set up our chairs each day. He knew exactly what we liked and where we liked to sit. Under the palm tree! Every day when we arrived he would have the chairs and umbrella set for us as soon as we got off the elevator. This young man also spent many moments talking to my wife and I and telling us great stories about PV life and how happy he was to be working at HM. He worked tirelessly each day and should be commended for his dedication.
So this entire rooftop pool/bar area is a very large thing that needs to be managed. Our friend Gustavo was the Pool Floor Manager and he is 100% the best management person I’ve ever met. His employees work so very hard for him and each and every day make sure that each and every guest is greeted with a smile and taken care of throughout the day. He didn’t just walk the floor either. He delivered food, drinks, adjusted umbrellas, you name it. He was a part of the team and not just the “boss”. He and I spoke many times over the week about all types of things. Some of them personal about his family and what happens after he leaves for the day. Each of these employees has a life outside the hotel and I urge you to talk to them and here what they have to say. Gustavo planned a beautiful table for us at the rooftop restaurant on our last night at the hotel. A wonderful gesture from a wonderful person.
Lastly, and certainly not least was our butler(s). Ernesto was our assigned butler and although we really didn’t require very much from him during our stay he was always available. He would see us at breakfast and 1 or 2 times during the day while at the pool. He helped us with a couple of dinner reservations and secured us a beautiful dinner on the beach one evening. The atmosphere was fantastic.
1 last person I need to recognize is a gentleman who 1 year ago when we were there was working at the pool. This year he was now a butler serving customers. On our very first day we walked past him at the pool in the morning. He was on the telephone with someone. Since he was on the phone I simply smiled and walked past him. As I passed he looked up and said to me “welcome back”! I was taken by surprise and then recognized him as the pool person from last year. Having someone like that remember you from a year ago means that these workers don’t look at their positions as just jobs, they have a personal stake in them as well. He spent a good amount of time with me this week talking to me about where we could go near the resort. He told me about his family and where they like to go and spend time. He sent me a text with some links and great information. He went Above and Beyond his duties as an employee. Please, when you go to HM, and you MUST, please ask for Cesar. Even if you just say hello, you will not be disappointed.
Thank you to each and every one of the employees of HM. You made our week stay a memorable one and your hospitality means that we WILL return once more! Thank you !!!
We had an amazing time in a private corner suite! The private hot tub, balcony, views, and room service were incredible. Never needed to, or wanted to, leave the room. The amenities were incredible and comfortable. Our check in experience was a bit disjointed, but the hotel apologized and properly rectified the situation. Would stay again!!
My husband and I first discovered Hotel Mousai in October 2018 on a five-day vacation celebrating our anniversary. The entire experience took our breath away; we loved our corner suite with butler service; the incredible service; and amazing food - and five days were not enough. So, we decided to come back for a full week in November 2019. Everything was just as we remembered it, and even better. Gorgeous rooms, wonderful food - but what makes Hotel Mousai so incredible are the people. Everyone we met was no nice and personable. I thought it only fair to identify and thank all the wonderful folks at the hotel who made are second visit even better than the first:
Angel - Hiroshi breakfast
Jose’ - rooftop pool
Veronica - rooftop pool & Hiroshi
Narce - rooftop pool & Hiroshi
Manuel - bellman
Polo - rooftop pool
Ce’sar - butler
Jairo - butler
Aldo Ibarra - rooftop pool
Ignacio - bellman
Rigo - rooftop pool
Irving - Hiroshi
Cesar - Hiroshi
Eduardo - Hiroshi breakfast
Mateo - Hiroshi breakfast
We were elated to hear of the expansion (new tower being built), and we are looking forward to another visit in fall of 2021 - this time with 3 more couples!
Hotel Mousai is a very special place. Don’t hesitate to book your trip. Also, go into town. We did the ATV tour through the city and Sierra Madres. Spectacular! The people of Puerto Vallarta are beautiful and friendly, and one of the many reasons the city is so special!
Hotel Mousai is fabulous! We won the trip on The Ellen Show and our expectations were average. We were WRONG! This place is fabulous and every wish is their command. Staff is personable and caring. Pool side evening sax player was magical. Rooms are clean, hot tub, huge mini bar, and 24 hour room service. Treat yourself!
One of my best experience if not the best experience I had in Mexico. The property is well kept. Christian from their booking department helped me book the ultra suite, it was nothing short of luxury. Everyone was extremely professional and helpful. You will see why they’re the only 5 diamonds resort there
We spent 5 days in total bliss! The rooms were spotlessly clean with top-of-the-line modern decor. Our favorite features in the room were the bed & pillows, automatic blinds & music & our very own hot tub! We woke up each morning, opened our blinds & stared out into the pacific. WOW! Our favorite hotel feature was the rooftop. Aldo served us at the infinity pool each day & the margaritas were to die for! If you're looking for paradise, this is it! They also have a sister hotel you can be shuttled to if you'd like to be on the beach. Our pool experience there was just as wonderful. I can't say enough about the service! Cesar & Ernesto were the two butlers who took care of us and they were EXCELLENT! They made recommendations, scheduled our dinners, turned down our beds &…
We spent all of Saturday lounging, drinking cold beers and funky Mezcal infused adult beverages. You can order a large array of snacks but stick to the fresh seafood. Probably the best Tuna Sashimi we've had in a long time.
A live musician playing light jazz, infinity views and amazing service.. We left the rooftop just to continue enjoying yet another gem at Mousai called Hiroshi..
We have stayed at Mousai on several occasions and I can honestly say that each time, it's a great experience. The level of care and kindness the staff demonstrate the their guests truly places Mousai in a league of its own. I will definitely come back each time we go to Puerto Vallarta. The rooftop is truly a landmark!
Our weekend getaway couldn’t have been more perfect. Everyone from servers to concierge is extremely attentive to your needs, they make it a remarkable experience. Hiroshi is a must try if you are in PV too. You’re in for quite a treat and can’t wait to come back again. P.S. this is our third time visiting this hotel so you know it’s worth it.
Everything about this hotel is excellent. They went out of their way to make us happy. The food was fab, the service over the top, the view amazing. Our corner suite room was awesome and we loved the bed. I wish I would have brought some friend couples because my only complaint is there is no live music or dancing at night so we got a bit bored. We know there is plenty to do in town but it would have been cool if they had a live trio for dancing a few nights a week. Loved the sax player that went around and played with the background music in the evening at the restaurant and in the lobby. It is really a special place.
We had booked a 2 bedroom panoramic view suite. We had booked hotel direct and had requested a higher floor and away from the construction noise. When we got there we were given a room on the 3rd floor in Building 5 which was right beside the construction and no view in front coz of the trees. We asked to be moved and they did so after 2 nights. That was an annoying and inconvenient
Other than that incident, we have to say we simply and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The hotel and staff is excellent. We had included breakfast and it was amazing with lots of options. Ate at Blanca Blue and it was great. The poolside and beach service was excellent. The spa outstanding, our family of 4 had a massage service there and it was great. the views are phenomenal and its only 20 mins from town. The Italian restaurant which is open on the beach in the evening is average.
The Ultra Junior Panorama Suite was an exquisite room. Tower 4 was well located with access to the Panorama pool and Hotel Mousai. There is some construction noise but you can still hear the ocean from the balcony. If you want authentic Mexico, this isn’t the place. Local cuisine is non-existent, however, the food is good. I recommend the Aqua Azul. Access to the town is great. If you are looking for luxury, and the price that goes with it, then s is your kind of place.
We had the best time at this resort. It was just breathtaking views, the service was phenomenal. the staff is so nice, and helpful ALL OF THE TIME. They never falter, not once. Especially Carlos the butler he was always there ready to help with whatever we wanted reservations, information, questions, printing boarding passes, you name it. He showed up like magic, amazing!! Jorge he was in the front greeting people, he always helped when we had any questions, on taxies, excursions, cost or things, directions, etc. We had laundry that wasnt dry and he laid it out on the balcony for us, WHAT?! who does that?? The spa was so nice and relaxing its a must do. I will be trying to figure out how to get back as soon as possible.
We have been in Garza Blanca in March 2017 and have returned this March 2020 for a 2nd visit.
We found our experience in 2020 to be as good and even better than our 2017 stay at the resort. 1st, let’s talk about the construction going on that everyone has been talking about. It did not bother us one bit. Yes, you can see the construction going on when looking out from the Panoramic Suite balcony in Tower 4, 5 or even the Mousai… but that was not an issue for us. As far as construction noise goes we did ear the occasional truck road by on the main street between the upper towers and the main hotel part near the beach but that was not worse than other traffic that goes by there at normal time anyway.
So if you are worried about construction (at least at the current stage) then worry not. I have to say that we stayed in a 2 bedroom panoramic suite in tower 4 facing the pool. So we had a view of the construction site. Had we been in Tower 5 with a balcony facing the hill side we might have had more of a distracting view as it would have been in our face… but again, we spend most of our time by the pool, beach or restaurant when at the Garza so again, it would have been ok for us.
So how did it compare to 2017? Well, everything is pretty much exactly as we left it 3 years ago. The venues are as clean as before. Some aging is starting to show in a few places and will be in need of a refresh sooner than later. Nothing huge or big but obviously when you have a large turnaround in a suite, couches and bed mattress can start to show signs of wear. Most notably the living room lamp shades showed signs of having fallen to the ground more than once. Something the hotel might want to address with less prone to fall type of lamp for example.
The pools and beach area were spotless with plenty of sun chairs and towels well folded on each every time we went by and plenty of free chairs to sit when we got there. There were the isolated reserved chairs by some inconsiderate guests (we sat beside them for more than 3 hours and no one even showed up… such behaviour should not be tolerated...) but not in too large a number.
Pool service was awesome and we never had to wait very long before someone offered us a new refreshment of more food by the pool. Food choices on the menu were plentiful and of great quality. Drinks never were served with less alcohol than expected. I read some had issues with weak drinks but this never was the case for us.
Room service was spot on and almost obsessive :-) We had nice little surprises left in our room by the staff every evening. The fridge water, pop and beer content was always well stocked. Mind you, we do leave good tip for room services so your mileage may vary based on tipping or not. For example, we left 100 pesos every day in the fridge and 300 pesos for the room every day we have been there.
Restaurant service was awesome. We ate at the Iroshi, Bokados and Blanca Blue restaurant during our stay. Food was always good and the service was always great. We ate most of our meal at the Blanca Blue and built a great relationship with the “Maitre d’hotel” there. We have been offered the opportunity to try the new menu items for 2020 that will be offered soon to guests of the resort. It was presented to us by the “Maitre d’hotel” himself (Rigo) and his assistant (Jose).
It consisted of an 8 course meal with carefully selected drinks. We were 1st offered an amazing custom drink that we called the “Sunset”. It was a tasteful blend of cucumber, tequila, and a few other alcohols I don’t remember. Perfect to drink while watching the sunset on the banderas bay and catching the Orca swimming by in the ocean.
I could go on and attempt to describe the tasteful and well presented plates that followed but this would not give justice to them as they were beyond good. You will have to experience them on your own and be the judge. I am not sure if this special dining offer comes by frequently but the “Maitre d'hotel” told us it is only done a few times a week and usually to couples. This one was a bit special since we were 5 at the table (wife and I plus 3 kids ages 18, 16 and 14).
The meal ended with something really special called a flaming mexican coffee. This is truly spectacular and a must have if you stay at the Garza Blanca.
So overall our stay at the resort was a blast and we will be happy to return if we have the chance in the future. With the resort expansion I think things will only get better once the new towers and sections are open.
The trip to Garza blanca was absolutely amazing.
The rooms are beautiful wirh a refrigerator stocked with water and soda and beer, as well as snacks. Restocked daily. Blanca Bleu, the main restaurant had gourmet dishes. Delicious. And the adjacent property Villa del palmar has outstanding dining options as well.
The waiter, Hector, at the Asian restaurant,Hiroshi, was best server I have EVER had. He went the extra mile to insure our dining experience was special.
The names to shout out for excellence at Garza blanca Maria, and Otikio, the pool concierges were on top of everything to make food, Drinks, chairs, umbrellas always available. Just fabulous. Isbelina, Edger, and ESPECIALLY Ivan, who was our "butler " were over the top amazing. Cant say enough good about this place. After Coronavirus is conquered, take a trip to Cancun Stay at Garza Blanca, you not regret it.
After the circumstances of the first half of 2020 we were SO ready for our vacation. I’m so happy we chose Garza Blanca. This was our first visit since purchasing our membership and from before our arrival we were being treated like family. Upon our arrival everyone greeted us with “Welcome Home” and by the time we left we truly get like we had been with “family”. All the staff at Blanca Blu greeted us by name and remembered our breakfast and dinner preferences. Our “Host” Pascal made sure ALL our needs were met and went above and beyond to provide us with recommendations.
The Imagine Spa is world class and one of the best we’ve ever visited.
Thanks to EVERYONE that made our stay so memorable. We look forward to seeing you all again soon!!
I really love this resort to come and have a relaxing time I really enjoyed my stay with my husband . We really appreciate the help we got Luis Perez he was so attentive with all our needs. He was amazing. Five diamonds if there’s that rating.
Dear Senor Lopez Tarragota,
Note: First let me put everone's mind at ease about any Covid-19 concerns at the resort. The resort lived up to its Covid-prevention pledge. Absolutely no doubt that the resort is Covid-prevention safe.
The title of this review are my words my words which I used in my Google review using my writer's alias, "Stan Dubrunski." So if people want to see the usual breath-taking resort photos, they are there.
I did include 2 photos that show in detail the Garza Blanca difference: 1) The fine detailed artistic finishing of the transition of the tile floor using hand-laid stones to also act to avoid foot slippage, and 2) Not only are there knotted rope ends on the bed canopy ropes, they are accented with a sea shell. Detailed class is embolden throughout the resort's facilities. Expensive, yet lasting, and so very appreciated.
Instead, I want to let people know why:
When you close your eyes and dream of the ideal tropical vacation ~ when you open your eyes Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarata will be ready and waiting for you.
You and your staff are the difference between just a nice posh resort and truly a relaxing week in paradise.
The many associates whom we encountered at the resort speak proudly of it ~ knowing that if they honor the high guest expectations that they will be given opportunities to advance their careers creates an atmosphere with a positive aura.
I know that I will forget someone ~ including the maids, gardeners, shuttle drivers and bellmen who stopped to answer my questions~ but here goes my staff shout-out list:
Manuel our personal butler;
Gloria and Emily the Elite Consierges who setup our reservation and arranged so many details to happen;
my 3 Amigos at the Panorama Pool and know Tequila ~ Pedro, Gonzolo & Miguel;
Tito at the Beach Pool;
Kiersten & Antonio at Bianca Blue;
our Tower4 Room Service butlers who delivered & setup our breakfasts;
Ana our maid;
and, countless others I should have taken photos of and/or noted their names.
My family and I spent 3 wonderful days at Garza Blanca. We stayed in a 2 bdrm panorama in tower 5 and what an incredible view!! We were amazed at how clean everything was and the staffs attentiveness was outstanding! Everyone wore masks and were constantly cleaning tables, chairs, handrails, bathrooms, etc.. we decided to get the all inclusive and it was totally worth it. Food was very good and kids loved their coconut ice cream! We are definitely going to come back and spend more time here, 3 days is just not enough!
If you are looking for an all-inclusive that has excellent service, amenities, beautiful beaches and views and breathtaking rooms, look no longer.
My family and I, which includes a 6 and an 8 years-old just stayed there and we were so very impressed with this place; it exceeded our expectations. Highlights:
- Rooms are incredibly spacious; the Panorama suite we stayed at had two newsrooms and three bathrooms plus a kitchen and living room area, with out-of-this-world views to the sea and unforgettable sunsets; hammock and jacuzzi on the balcony, which is enormous
- Staff is super nice and attentive. Special thanks to Ms. Monica from the Kids Club; she was amazing with our kids and so sweet. They wanted to go every single day!
Also thanks to Mario for the wonderful breakfasts we had at STK Bocados and for Jetzel and all of his waiters, who were phenomenal at dinner time. Alejandro and Antonio at the Panoramic pool are the best; they say everything is possible here, just ask!
- The views are spectacular
- The food is good and with an all-inclusive package, you cannot go wrong
They took extra care of sanitizing all areas, including the kids club at lunch times. Super clean and the staff wears masks at all times.
Wonderful experience and unforgettable memories!
Beautiful, spectacular and excellent property. Beautiful rooms with spectacular views of the bay/ocean and jmountain side jungle. Great experience and views at the onsite restaurants. Lovely beach with easy access and beautiful pools. Great staff.
We have stayed in the 2 bedroom mountain suite and one bedroom mountain suite. The views are beautiful. The beach and pools are very nice. The personnel there are very kind and you are there guest. The restaurants have good food and room service is very nice when your tired from taking a bus into town and shopping. It is very relaxing there.
This was our first visit to Garza Blanca, and looking forward to next time. We reserved a 1 bedroom unit through RCI, and paid for an upgrade to a 2 br when we arrived. This is a big resort, so plan accordingly. They have a trolley that runs every 15 minutes, but you can't set your clock by it. If you are fit, the walking is easily done. It is located about 15 minutes out of town, so you are isolated. Uber into town is only about 80 pesos. The 2 bedroom was fabulous. Two bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and private hot tub on balcony. Their drink prices and room service prices were very reasonable. It doesn't appear they have changed their menu prices with the drop in Peso value, which makes the prices even better. Their housekeeping was very attentive and did a great job. …
Hi My family and I just got back from visiting Puerto Vallarta. We stayed at Garza Blanca, I personally loved how welcoming the hotel staff was. We felt in a safe Covid free environment. 100 percent recommend!
